Well sometimes family isn’t close by and you just have to make your own holiday traditions. Heather H-B is a transplant to Jackson and her family isn’t always around for the holidays. I’m sure if they got a taste of her famous brown sugar glazed brussels sprouts with bacon they’d definitely wish they were. Since her family is dispersed to both coasts, Heather spoils her friends instead when she proudly serves this tasty dish at Friendsgiving and Friendsmas. Her friends we’d say are pretty lucky. And now you are too.
Brown Sugar Glazed Brussels Sprouts with Bacon
- 3 slices of bacon
- 1 lb. brussel sprouts
- 1 clove garlic
- 1/8 tsp. black pepper
- 1 1/2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 2 tbsp water
Directions
Cook bacon in a large skillet on medium heat, flip until bacon is crisp.
Remove bacon and set aside.
Place brussels sprouts, garlic, salt and pepper in skillet with bacon grease.
Saute on medium heat for 10 mins.
If brussels sprouts start to blacken turn down heat to medium low.
Add sugar and water, stir.
Simmer until all the water evaporates.
Crumble bacon and add to the glazed brussels sprouts.
Serve.
